We got a new bus! And the bunks are even bigger and better than the last bus, but for some reason I slept really bad. I also got a really stuffy nose, which sucks but I can´t complain! Woke up for around 11 had a good breakfast once again we had two chefs who made us some serious good food! Thank you for making the touring life easy.
I had some vegetable soup, bread and fruit for breakfast. It was so good.
You don´t realize how important good and healthy food is before you go on tour. Pushing your body everyday way over the normal, and then not eat properly will destroy you in no time. So happy with the vegetarian options we have had so far on the tour.
Between breakfast to dinner I just went around eating snacks, drinking coffee, salat and bread with some curry/pineapple topping. Was so good!
Then it was off to soundcheck. Had awesome sound, and the drums sounded HUGE!
Thanks to this guy for AWESOME monitor sound. It was a pleasure to work with you.
Asger during soundcheck!
For dinner I had Nutsteak, broccoli, carrots, red cabbage and potatoes. Was awesome. With sparkling water and soy milk!
Show went good, screwed up two things kind of big time, but don´t think to many people noticed. Thank you sheet music :-D
I´m off! Good night :D

Day 3: Leipzig.
I woke up a little tired today as it was so hot on the bus during the night. I hate being warm, especially during the night. So I did not sleep that well. But the mood changed quickly as we were met with a super nice venue and two lovely chefs who made some serious good food.
We had some nice coffee, lots of fruits and fresh bread for breakfast.
I think we are four vegetarian/vegans on this tour, so we got our own place in the fridge with all sorts of veggie toppings. It was a nice surprise.
For lunch I had a nice vegan tomato (ish) sup with garlic bread slices. Had like three portions, and it was delicious. The chefs were so kind as well. They always showed us what was veggie/vegan so there would not be any confusions.
Then I went off to practice a little bit. Here is my practice set up.
I have been given some exercises from my teacher, Karl Oluf that I have to nail when I get back to school. So I try at least to get around 2-3 hours of practice every days as well. HUGE SHOUT OUT to Steinar Eikum at EM Noric AS for hooking me up with these lovely Mapex products. Got a new Mapex chair, Falcon Snare stand and Falcon Double pedals for this tour! Thank you guys :) www.emnordic.no
All the markings on my carpet is for the drums and stands so they will be put up at the same place every night. Have been working extremely well so far.
For dinner we had rice, salat mix, some pasta and a vegan indian/curry thingy that was amazing. Tried not to eat to much as it was only 30 min until soundcheck and two ours before we entered the stage. But I did have two more plates after the show. I also had a banana/mango smoothie, so much nutrition!!! Love it.
Asger (Vocalist) chilling backstage before we bombarded it with stuff.
The show went good. I had some issues with my cymbals stand on Starburn wich made me fuck up a little bit, but other than that it went good. Great crowd and lots of good feedback. Starting to get in the routine.
Also we got a new bus. There was some trouble with the old bus, so Katatonia just got a new one. And the new one is insane. Will post some pics of it tomorrow.
All the best!

We drove from Copenhagen (DK) to Malmö (SE) to meet up with the guys in Katatonia and Agent Fresco. There is always some issues at the first day of tour so we only got like a 15min soundcheck 30min before we were hitting the stage.
Dinner was great. I had some taco/fajitas with vegan Oumph! and lots of vegetables. Good food = Happy Simen!
It was my first show with VOLA, and we have only had two and a half day with practice. So I was reading a lot of the sheets on my mac, just to be sure I did not screw up.
There were no major fuck ups, and it went so much better than expected. So it was kind of relief to get it done!
Forgot to charge my camera, so don´t have to many photos of the day, but here are some from practice and the days before.
Me at the Airport in Kristiansand with all my gear. Serious pain in the asa to get it all shipped down to Copenhagen. NEVER ship hardware, NEVER!
The tour bus - our home for the next 40 days or so!
Here we are out for a bite to eat in Copenhagen.
The boys in VOLA and me outside the rehearsal space. Super nice dudes, they are awesome.
A sick foto by Björn Olsson from the show in Malmö. Thank you!
